The first time I went to Lamu was in 2016 and I immediately fell madly in love with the island and its people. We stayed at @forodhanihouselamu and they were so kind and welcoming… genuinely made it feel like home. Since then, I’ve been back to Lamu every year, sometimes twice a year. . It breaks my heart that so many businesses have been affected by the pandemic and I often think about Lamu and how everyone’s getting on. I made a promise to myself that I’ll spend the next couple of years exploring this country of ours a bit more and I encourage you to do the same. @forodhanihouselamu currently have a 20% discount running so please take advantage of that!! At the start of the year I made a reservation for me and my family to go back to Lamu in December and I’m crossing my fingers that things will have calmed down by then and we can still make that happen. I miss my second home so much! . P.S.: some of the photos I’ve shared are by the talented @truthslinger 🤗
