Vivo Activewear is a retail clothing business started in 2011. In less than 8 years of operation, Vivo has blossomed into the “go-to” store for stylish yet comfortable, functional and affordable women’s clothing in Kenya.

The brand is known for its bright, versatile, colourful and edgy styles.  Vivo clothes appeal across the board, and in particular to anyone who enjoys style and is young at heart.

Vivo’s mission is to empower and inspire women, changing the way they see themselves through fashion,Vivo, which means “alive”, invites all women to thrive in their bodies.

Shifting away from Western centric fashion industry norms, Vivo puts African women’s clothing needs and tastes first with versatile fabrics and fits, while remaining globally accommodating.
Vivo customers can find casual, smart casual and activewear attire that reflects regional and community trends.

Vivo Activewear was Co-Founder by Wandia Gichuru who is also the CEO,Prior to starting Vivo, Wandia spent over 15 years as international development adviser and held positions with the UK government, the UN and the World Bank. In addition to running Vivo, Wandia is also a certified life coach, an investor on Kenya’s Lion’s Den, a business mentor, and a trustee of the Mbugua Rosemary Foundation as well as the Charles & Rita Field-Marsham Foundation.

She is deeply passionate about changing the way Africa is seen and sees itself through strengthening African brands, talent and creativity, and developing partnerships across Africa and between Africa and the rest of the world.

She is also passionate about transforming lives through job creation and supporting women in business. She lives in Nairobi with her two daughters, aged 13 and 14.
