Gabiro Mtu Necessary is among the few artists from the lakeside region of Kisumu, Kenya to have shown consistency, patience and focus in a place where very few creative minds come to make it big in the creative space. He is steadily building a reputation for Kisumu’s best lyricist, and but also shares his personal struggles through his art. From working as a matatu tout to battling drug abuse, Gabiro’s ability to tell stories separates him from rap music ‘status quo’

“Seche Rach is one of those song ideas that you wake up to and they are the first to ring on your mind. However vulgar and crazy it may sound to the ear it is done creatively and as we all know creativity is defined as intelligence having fun, ” says Gabiro

Fena Gitu New Song Zing Zong Official HD Video

Rapper-cum-singer Fena Gitu is back with a new song almost three months after she released Kaende and it’s totally out of this world. The song titled Zing Zong, which is off her upcoming debut album Unleashed, will make you hit the replay button a couple of times because it’s too lit ladies and gentlemen.

If you have ever doubted Fena Gitu’s musical prowess, you should definitely check out this jam because it affirms her versatility.

Perhaps, she’s one of the most flexible female artists of our time judging by how she can easily switch from singing to rapping and vice versa.

really love this jam. Apart from the fact that Fena Gitu’s vocals are great, the Afro reggae vibe will leave you asking for more.

Although the video, which was directed by Mike Lolly P, was very simple. I think it still came out well since you don’t expect Fena Gitu to have some vixens twerking in her video, or do you? Put simply, the concept is subtle but dope.

To add to that, I really loved the styling in this video. Millennial like yours truly would say, “Too much drip.” Props to the one and only Brian Babu. He really did a good job.

The beat, which was produced by Ilogos Music, was also on point. As you listen to the song, you won’t resist the urge to nod your head, bust a move or both.

Korede Bello shows appreciation to Kisumu based artist Gabiro Mtu Necessary

Korede Bello appreciates Gabiro Mtu Necessary’s song ‘Kus Kus’

It is definitely a good time for budding artists like Gabiro Mtu Necessary to be singing and churning out hit after hit every now and then because the industry is no longer deceiving.

Coming from Kisumu city, Gabiro has always proven to be one fresh and clean gem among the rest by always going a step ahead to the top in one way or the other as seen recently when he threw a shot at Nigerian and Mavin Records superstar to check out his new song ‘Kus Kus’.

Apparently he got Korede’s attention and the response to his tweet is what made Gabiro grow his YouTube video from 2.2k views to 4.1k views and still counting. In his tweet the self-proclaimed Kisumu president says

Quoted tweethttps://twitter.com/koredebello/status/1170095630271811586

On the song, Gabiro’s charming lyrical prowess is the star of the show, always delivered without a hint of strain. Lyrically, Gabiro mines a personal mood for inspiration, but contrasts the somber subject matter with a light and breezy delivery that will make you forget your worries in an instant — as long as you don’t listen too closely to the lyrics. Equally, the Crizo Mzeyah visuals emphasise the simplicity, mixing in footage of random dancers with a hood-looking Gabiro and some imagery to maintain those contrasting themes.

Fronted by a captivating whistle melody and pulsating dancehal beat, “Kus Kus” puts forth a dominating sound from Gabiro. Full of charismatic verses and a fierce, brassy dance break that leads into the chanting choral refrain of “rata tat tudum,” he spends the track confidently expressing feelings of joy and rejoicing.

For years Gabiro has proven to us the power of social media collaboration and good will as seen many at times when he used social media to win a cause.

Born and raised in Kisumu Gabiro has not only had the chance to work with Kidis but also big names like Wyre, Ketchup and even Uganda’s Nutty Neithan;he  has released 4 singles this year, barely pausing for breath in between drops. Accompanying the track, which officially dropped earlier today, is this video directed by Crizo Mzeyah. Taking a much simpler turn, “Kus Kus” brings in a feel good mood. As he explains, the song was inspired by Tamale word Kus, and sees Gabiro draw rhymes using the word which is a form of expressing sweetness.

Introducing Versatile Kenyan Rapper Mak Mansa with New Single “So Fly”

Nearly three months on from the release of Hapa Kazi single, and Kenyan rap star Mak Mansa is back with news of a sequel and the project’s lead single, “So Fly”.

The video narrates how a night out turns dramatic as Mansa ends up having a sexual encounter with a lady who happens to head an organization that Mansa needs to make a deal to since he is one who has an unfailing ability with the ladies and never fails to make them swoon.

If the new single is anything to go by, the smooth rap melodies of its predecessor will still be front and center, but “So Fly” suggests a more uptempo edge with rolling, trappy drums and club-ready bass lines.

Born and bred in Kinangop in Nyandarua County, Mak Mansa’s story is that of perseverance, persistence, and that of sheer hard work and hustle which will probably get the attention of his Hip Hop peers in the game. Mansa’s musical journey can be summed up in two words, ‘Brutal Ambition.’ Whether it is 13 years ago while in Form One and managing to convince his mother to finance his first project, to beginning various enterprises to finance his music career you cannot fail to acknowledge the efforts of this ambitious 27 year old.

[taq_review]

With Jay Z being one of the few industry players he looks up to his stage name comes with no surprise as it is derived from the great Mansa Musa I of Mali. He wants the greatness, but he is very self-aware to know that it takes a certain level of tenacity to be one of the greats and he’s ready for the journey.

Mak Mansa So fly

As Mansa says in his debut single, “Hapa Kazi (No Wira),” “Nö stress, press on, till I get it all” means that he is not coming to play but rather stay in the game.

Versatility can be said to be his other name since he is ready to experiment with beats unlike many rapper s whose, flows, wit and sounds become monotonous with each new day. His new sinle , “So Fly” is the bulls eye in a flirtatious point of view.

In an attempt to test waters and push boundaries, he raps about where he views himself within the industry while at the same time looking at where he is coming from and where he is headed. So fly is an ironic attempt to underscore all these factors, seeing that Mansa does not even indulge in some of the things he is talking about! And as he makes it clear in verse 3, all you need to be fly in this life is yourself.
