Rapper Gabiro Debut Cinematic Video for New ‘Kus Kus’ Single

Bit after bit and beat after beat, the self-proclaimed Kisumu President is slowly finding his place not only in the Kenyan music industry but also worldwide.

2019 has been a year of work and more work for Gabiro Mtu Necessary as from January when he released his collaborative tune ‘Nitembezee’ in which he featured talented super star Kidis the Jembe at a time when Kenyan artists were championing for more play of their sound on local media giving the song enough spacve to get airplay and features in various media. It is so far his most viewed music video as per YouTube statistics on his channel this year.

As ever, Gabiro’s charming lyrical prowess is the star of the show, always delivered without a hint of strain. Lyrically, Gabiro mines a personal mood for inspiration, but contrasts the somber subject matter with a light and breezy delivery that will make you forget your worries in an instant — as long as you don’t listen too closely to the lyrics. Equally, the Crizo Mzeyah visuals emphasise the simplicity, mixing in footage of random dancers with a hood-looking Gabiro and some imagery to maintain those contrasting themes.

[taq_review] Fronted by a captivating whistle melody and pulsating dancehal beat, "Kus Kus" puts forth a dominating sound from Gabiro. Full of charismatic verses and a fierce, brassy dance break that leads into the chanting choral refrain of "rata tat tudum,” he spends the track confidently expressing feelings of joy and rejoicing. Born and raised in Kisumu Gabiro has not only had the chance to work with Kidis but also big names like Wyre, Ketchup and even Uganda's Nutty Neithan;he  has released 4 singles this year, barely pausing for breath in between drops. And it's only August. Now he's back with yet another gem and he's tapped up music maestro and hit-maker Brian Robin of One Vibe Africa for production. Accompanying the track, which officially dropped earlier today, is this video directed by Crizo Mzeyah. Taking a much simpler turn, "Kus Kus" brings in a feel good mood. As he explains, the song was inspired by Tamale word Kus, and sees Gabiro draw rhymes using the word which is a form of expressing sweetness. Afro-pop Singer Ashleye Scarlette Hits Back with ‘Nikuamini’ Single

Afro-pop star Ashleye Scarlette is back with one of her most vulnerable releases to date. Out on Tuesday (May 27), “Nikuamini” is a standalone single from the singer based on her personal experiences.

The new track, her first of 2019, is an impactful dance-tinged ballad that puts the emphasis on Ashleye Scarlett’s expressive vocal tone as she flits between airy breathiness and powerful, sweeping belts.

Lyrically, the song relays the artist’s sense of assurance and focuses on a relationship that might end in sorrow despite her putting her trust in it  “Nifanye Nikuamini,” she sings and shares how the singer wanted to hold onto it even though she knows that it was something she needed to turn away from.

A deep Afro-pop track, “Nikuamini” is a tempo-shifting dance song that puts the focus on her synergy as a vocalist. It seamlessly flits between the breezy tones of the vocalist and her gruffer deliveries to create a vibrant soundscape soaring with shimmering synths and groovy beats.

Kisumu Based Rapper Gabiro Mtu Necessary Releases Swahili Version of Joyner Lucas’ Devils Work, ‘Chances’

Gabiro Mtu Necessary just dropped a new single off the new world controversial hit ‘Devils Work’ originally done by Joyner Lucas,He takes his fans on a conversation with God on why He (God) allows good people to vanish and allow the bad ones to stay.

This comes after his previous release ‘International Local that saw him champion for more support towards all talented fellows. In the song, recorded at MGF Studio, the self-proclaimed Kisumu President is pouring his heart heavily and he definitely sounds angered with all that goes around him; playing into the theme of being denied a chance together with other pioneers from all walks of life.

“I would not like anybody to misunderstand or misquote the lyrics on this song at any time because it is nothing more serious than an artist expressing themselves artistically in a song. Everyone mentioned in this song has in one way or the other either supported me as a brand and or as a person or they had an impact in whatever I am doing today.”

Just Imagine Africa New Song Madem Wa Kenya Featuring Sauti Sol

In usual fashion, Just Imagine Africa has teamed up with acclaimed Kenyan band Sauti Sol to give you a song in awe of beautiful Kenyan women, through their experimental ways, this tune fuses elements of pop and afrojazz to give forth a tune that will keep you dancing for a long time.

The best thing about discovering new music and fresh artists is that you don’t have to put their work in a box. You go with the flow. You take what they have to give and you decide whether it is for you or it isn’t.

Just Imagine Africa is a group that describes themselves as ‘the African siblings that Outcast never had’. That quote will either work for them or against them, because those are some pretty tough shoes to associate you with.

However, I’m of the opinion that if you feel you have it, you need to let others know.

It’s a five-piece band fronted by the lyricist, vocalist and instrumentalist Mugo with an electric, eclectic sound, and a whole lot of soul. Their sound is generally eclectic, spanning a myriad of genres

“Just Imagine Africa’ is an Idea that explains true freedom to the African people. Imagination is Freedom and Music is our way of spreading this message of Love, peace and togetherness”
