Meet Monalisa Umutoni Founder, CEO and Makeup Artist at Mona Faces

Monalisa Umutoni, popularly known as Mona Faces, is a self-taught Ugandan make-up artist. Fascinated by all things art and beauty, her passion for make-up started at a young age. With the help of numerous YouTube tutorials, and practice on friends and family, Mona Faces took a life of its own.

Since the start of her career in 2014, Mona has had the pleasure of working with celebrated Ugandan women including, H.R.H The Queen of Buganda Nnaabagereka – Sylvia Nagginda, Hon. Amelia Kyambadde, multi-award winning comedian – Anne Kansiime, celebrity designer – Sylvia Owori and popular musicians such as, Lilian Mbabazi and Sheebah Karungi

Through her involvement in various projects, including Kampala Fashion Week, editorial shoots and bridal entourages, Mona’s following quickly grew from 200 to 2000. Today, Mona Faces is a household name, with over 63,000 followers and a newly launched YouTube channel. In February of 2016, Mona opened a make-up studio in Kisementi, Kampala’s number one lifestyle destination.
