Radisson Blu Arboretum Unveils Exclusive F1 Watch Party Series at Midori Garden
A Premier Formula 1 Viewing Experience Launches in the Heart of Nairobi
This past weekend, Radisson Blu Hotel & Residence Nairobi Arboretum officially launched its highly anticipated Formula 1 Watch Party Series in the beautifully refurbished Midori Garden, setting the tone for a season filled with high-octane excitement. The series debuted with a live viewing of the Bahrain Grand Prix, delivering an unparalleled experience for motorsport fans in Nairobi.
The event, hosted in collaboration with The Wheelspin Podcast, drew an eclectic crowd of media personalities, influencers, motorsport enthusiasts, and F1 devotees. Set against the lush, vibrant backdrop of Midori Garden, the watch party combined the electrifying atmosphere of Formula 1 with Radisson Blu’s signature elegance and hospitality, creating a unique space for fans to celebrate their shared passion.
“It was important for us to create a space where our guests and F1 fans could come together to share in the adrenaline and excitement of the races,” said Mozart Gitari, Marketing, PR & Communications Manager at Radisson Blu Arboretum.
“Launching this experience at Midori Garden is just the beginning — we are excited to grow a passionate F1 community right here in Nairobi. The energy from the Bahrain Grand Prix was electric, and we’re just getting started.”
A Glimpse Into the Bahrain Grand Prix
The Bahrain Grand Prix delivered all the drama and thrill fans hoped for, with McLaren’s Oscar Piastri dominating the race to secure his second victory of the season. Leading from lights out to the checkered flag, Piastri finished 15 seconds ahead of George Russell of Mercedes, despite a mid-race Safety Car that wiped out his initial seven-second lead.
Lando Norris, Piastri’s teammate and current championship leader, made a late surge to snatch a podium finish, overtaking Ferrari’s Charles Leclerc in the closing laps. Norris’ third-place finish kept him narrowly ahead in the standings, holding a slim three-point lead over Piastri. Leclerc and Lewis Hamilton completed the top five for Ferrari.
