Nameless and Wahu (The Mz) in Te-Amo (Official 4K Video)

Nameless and Wahu present Te Amo, a song that talks of flirty, fun, light, love, and initial attraction between a man and a woman. Written by up-and-coming artist Brandon Israel and produced by top producer Cedo, Te Amo is delivered in a fun, upbeat afro pop-dance vibe that is sure to get the audiences on their feet.

This is the first-ever collaboration between Nameless and his wife Wahu, and the 2nd right after

“This Love Riddim’ release, and is of their soon-to-be-released Album Project. Nameless and Wahu are excited to be working on this album which weaves the colorful story of love and relationships; The ups and downs, success and failures, happy and sad moments, the couple will also share their relationship journey through this 12 track album as they tell the story behind the music.

One of the unique aspects of this project is the intentional audience inclusion in the creative process. This has been initially expressed in how they reached out to their fans to ask them to propose the “group name” that they should adopt.

[taq_review]

They settled on the most popular opinions and combined the ideas. As such, the communication for this project captures Nameless and Wahu, the two brands that come together to form a different brand called the Mathengez which for purposes of this project is shortened to the Mz, which also doubles as the name of the album project!

(Yaaani, you can call the group Nameless and Wahu or you can call The Mathengez or just call them the Mz.. chaguo ni lako.) More and more of this inclusivity will be seen, as they move along the album creation process.

The video also features the beautiful, inspiring Azziad Nasenya, and the well-known ladies man Alehandro Benzema who has wowed many with his fun lyrics and distinct melodies, and musical prowess.

The Mz Album Project promises a variety of sounds and topics and the team strives to release a single every month or so, as they build up to release the full album later this year and hopefully, circumstances allowing, be able to physically tour the country and East African region to promote the Album Mz Project. For Now, enjoy Te Amo Spanish for “My Love” and join in the Te Amo dance!

Kenyan singer and songwriter Bensoul follows up his hit record “Nairobi” featuring Sauti SolNviiri the Storyteller, and Mejja with an official video directed by Roadman.

Sol Generation Star Bensoul on Friday dropped his much-anticipated hit titled Nairobi and Kenyans can’t get enough of its lyrics and video, Real name Benson Mutua, to say the least, the song has touched almost everyone who is married or dating in Nairobi.

He was first introduced to the public during a virtual Blankets & Wine concert last month where Zeshary Jean and Muthoni The Drummer Queen performed the song and left fans wanting for more.

The Meshisha hitmaker did not disappoint with his new banger, a song he collaborated with Mejja, Sauti Sol, and Nviiri the Storyteller, One of the things that stood out in the song is the fact that the Sol Generation family brought in Mejja to spice up the song with his lyrics.

[taq_review]

The song opens up with Bensoul reporting to Mejja that he has received the bad news that his friends are hitting on his partner, he goes ahead to sing about hearing how his lover is not exclusively his own but is going around with other men too. An actual common theme in Nairobi’s love circles.

“Nairobi Yule anakupea, pia ananipea Akikuletea, ananiletea Wanakula fare Sote tuna share Ogopa Sana” the lyrics go. It is a warning for everyone else to be on their toes when it comes to relationships.

Nairobi is a straightforward song, as it tends to paint a true picture of the dating life in Nairobi City and how everyone is sharing his/her partner with other people without knowing.

The song was written by Bensoul, Bien-Aimé Baraza, and Mejja while its audio was produced by So Fresh 254, Bensoul, and Savara.

Afro-pop Singer Ashleye Scarlette Hits Back with ‘Nikuamini’ Single

Afro-pop star Ashleye Scarlette is back with one of her most vulnerable releases to date. Out on Tuesday (May 27), “Nikuamini” is a standalone single from the singer based on her personal experiences.

The new track, her first of 2019, is an impactful dance-tinged ballad that puts the emphasis on Ashleye Scarlett’s expressive vocal tone as she flits between airy breathiness and powerful, sweeping belts.

Lyrically, the song relays the artist’s sense of assurance and focuses on a relationship that might end in sorrow despite her putting her trust in it  “Nifanye Nikuamini,” she sings and shares how the singer wanted to hold onto it even though she knows that it was something she needed to turn away from.

A deep Afro-pop track, “Nikuamini” is a tempo-shifting dance song that puts the focus on her synergy as a vocalist. It seamlessly flits between the breezy tones of the vocalist and her gruffer deliveries to create a vibrant soundscape soaring with shimmering synths and groovy beats.
[taq_review]

The music video for the song bring even more focus on the theme as portrayed in the lyrics with the director capturing scenes of the singer having a conversation with the said lover then back solely onto the star, doing away with the flash and flare often associated with the world of pop and instead pans over the normal union of a couple in argument.

Audio Produced by Vicky Pon Dis (Simba Sounds)
Video Directed by Richie-G(ATL Entertainment) 2019
