Types Of Dandruff And How To Treat Them

It starts slowly. Your black clothes are the first to be banished. Then comes the embarrassment. The awkward dance of your hands with your hair – tucking it behind your ears, rolling it up in a bun, spreading it out strategically to conceal those pesky white flakes that lay beneath. Dandruff.

Ask anyone around you what hair condition they are most wary of getting and a majority of them will give you the same answer – dandruff. This skin condition that is mainly characterized by white flakes is also accompanied by symptoms like inflammation and an itchy scalp. And although it is a frustrating hair condition to have, the good news is that it is treatable. But before you start any treatment, it is important that you figure out what type of dandruff you have to nip the problem in the bud.

Different Types Of Dandruff

1. Dry Skin-Related Dandruff

Dandruff often develops on people who generally have dry skin. This dry skin could be a result of winter months or not shampooing your hair regularly. People with curly hair also suffer from a drier scalp than other hair types. Using sulfate shampoos that create a lot of foam can also cause and aggravate dry skin-related dandruff.

Symptoms: A feeling of tightness on your scalp and small, round, white flakes of dandruff falling from your head.

How To Use Onion Juice For Hair Growth

Growing your hair is a task and an excruciatingly long one at that. With the amount of time your hair takes to grow, and the trims you cannot avoid, it’s hard to resist the urge to give up. I’m not going to lie, growing your hair does require a lot of patience, but it also doesn’t have to be as painfully slow. Using growth-stimulating ingredients like onion can help boost the rate at which your hair grows while also adding volume. Following, I’ve put together a list of the 12 ways to use onions to boost hair growth. But first, let’s look at how exactly onion helps your hair.

Benefits Of Onion Juice For Hair Growth

Using onion juice is a sure-shot method to boosting hair growth and promoting hair regrowth. Onion juice for hair growth has received great reviews online from users with noticeable before and after results. Here are some possible reasons behind what makes this ingredient so effective:

  • Onion juice helps improve hair growth by boosting the level of an antioxidant enzyme catalase. This enzyme helps decompose hydrogen peroxide, optimizing the hair growth cycle.
  • It helps nourish your hair follicles with its rich content of sulfur. Sulfur is essential for the regeneration of your hair follicles.
  • The rich sulfur content also helps minimize hair thinning and breakage.
  • The antioxidants help reverse premature graying and delay graying.
  • Onion’s rich antibacterial properties help keep your scalp healthy and free of infection, promoting unhindered hair growth. These same properties also help control dandruff.
  • Onion juice stimulates your scalp and improves the circulation of blood, resulting in it follicles that are well-nourished.

The Best Skin Care Routine For Dry Skin

Caring for skin that is dry is as tough as caring for skin that is oily. For the latter, it is the constant blotting with tissues issue, whereas for the former one, it is the continuous application of moisturizer.

There are a lot of concerns associated with dry skin, such as flaky, itchy, and sensitive skin. However, with proper care, you can tackle these problems. Following a consistent daily skin care routine is the trick to achieving moisturized and dewy skin. Here’s what you need to do to achieve that.

Daily Skin Care Routine For Dry Skin

  1. Morning
  2. Day
  3. Night

1. Morning
Step 1: The first thing you need to do as soon as you get up is splash your face with cool water a few times. This makes your skin feel completely refreshed.

Step 2: Then, pick a moisturizing cleanser and gently cleanse your face with it. Make sure you choose a natural product with minimum chemicals.

Step 3: After that, tone your skin. Pick a toner that is not drying. Rose water is a good and natural option that you can try.

Step 4: The next step is moisturizing – the most important one. Apply the moisturizer thoroughly all over your skin until it gets completely absorbed.

Step 5: Then, it is time for the sunscreen. If you are stepping out, ensure that it has an SPF of 30 or more. Reapply every few hours.

Step 6: If you want to use makeup, then it is best to go light. Tinted moisturizers, bb creams, and concealers are good options. Make sure they are moisturizing too to prevent any dry patches.

Let’s face it, your hair has a mind of its own and does pretty much whatever it wants on a daily basis. And, I’m sure there are days when you feel like it’s completely out of control. But, there is one way that you can show your hair who’s the boss and gain back control. And that’s through a proper hair care routine.

Now, I’m not telling you to completely overhaul your current hair care routine and buy all new hair products. But there are certain simple tips and tricks that you can follow that can bring about a massive improvement in your hair in just a few days. So, let’s check them out!

1. How to Washing Your Hair

Make Up Products for Oily Skin

Here is a very common scenario – every morning, you look at the mirror and see excessive oil oozing from your face. Feeling irritated and frustrated, you clean and mattify your skin to oil-free and pore-less perfection. Unfortunately, by the time you step into your office, you have the same greasy look on your face and perhaps need another dab of face powder. By the midday, it appears like you’ve poured a bottle of oil on yourself.

For most of us with oily skin, the issue is not the lack of face mattifying products in the market– the problem lies in the fact that they never seem to give you the desired result.  The miraculous powder that works wonders on your friend’s face simply vanishes from your T-zone after 2-3 hours. So, what must you do? Stay chained to those age-old powder compacts? With the world developing by leaps and bounds, there’s nothing for you to fret about.

MakeUp Tips for Teenage Girls

High School and college are such fun days! Cool and trendy dresses, experiments with makeup, funky hairstyles are every young girl’s obsession through these years. Today’s post is dedicated to all our teenage friends who love makeup and want to experiment with looks. However, before discussing the makeup or teens which you may try out, it is very important to know that a clear and glowing face is the first step to teen makeup. And following the CTM (cleansing, toning and moisturizing) routine religiously is the secret to the much desired radiant skin.

So, let’s first discuss about a simple tutorial on how to apply makeup for teenage girls and then move to teenage makeup tips.

Teenage Makeup Tutorial
As your skin is very sensitive at this age and will react to any harsh cosmetics, therefore it is better if you keep your makeup to the minimum.

Step 1:
First, make sure to clean your face of any oil or dirt with a face wash. Dab a little bit of toner to your skin and finish off with a moisturizer. Use a moisturizer with SPF as it will also act as a sunscreen.

Step 2:
Foundation is not needed for a teenage skin (it evens out skin tone). So if you have to use one, take a very small amount and blend it thoroughly all over your face.

Step 3:
If you want to cover up any problem areas of your skin like blemishes, under eye circles or pimples, you may use a concealer. Choose the best concealer, which matches your skin tone; otherwise, it will look out of place. Take a very small amount and blend it out with your finger.

P.S.: Your fingertip is the best blender, you don’t need a brush.
