Pamoja Women Organize the First African Cultural Day.

Pamoja Women celebrated African Cultural Day for the first time ever in Rochester.

The co-founders of the group intend to make it an annual event because it was such a success.
The diverse African groups gathered at Rochester’s Peace Plaza for a celebration that was accompanied by food, music, and laughter.

People were greeted by the aroma of traditional African food as soon as they stepped foot in the square.
Six distinct traditional African dances were performed on stage throughout the day.
“Pamoja Women serves these communities, and it’s amazing how that when we needed them, they came through,” said Khadija Ali, a co-founder of Pamoja Women.

The organization works to support and uplift Rochester women and girls of East African descent.
Khadija Ali remarked, “You would see all kinds of ladies who are like, you know, entrepreneurial minds, that actually came today and sold stuff that they did not have the confidence to do at first.
Women and girls in vibrant traditional clothing may be seen all around the plaza as you go around.
Some of them participated in the Sudan fashion show, and one woman even got married.

“We had a wedding ceremony that is known as a ‘jerteg,’ which is kind of peculiar in Sudan. According to Alaa Ali, who organized the Sudan Fashion Show, the bride “wears all red and kind of a gold hat.”

Sudan, Somalia, and Ethiopia had the three largest cultural representations, but Pamoja Women expects that next year there will be even more.
Khadija Ali remarked, “I just hope every year it becomes better and better and better.
Pamoja Women would like to extend their gratitude to the people of Rochester, each of their sponsors, and the various African communities that attended in order to make the event a success.

Car And Bike Show: Rick Ross’ Massive Car Show Featured Performances From Meek Mill, Gucci Mane

The evening also featured performances by Gunplay, Tyler, the Creator, and other artists.
Meek Mill and Gucci Mane performed at Rick Ross’ car show on Saturday, June 3, at his Atlanta residence.
Ross guided fans through his Promised Land home while posting videos from the occasion to his Instagram account throughout the day. Gucci played 2010’s “I Think I Love Her” on a stage in the artist’s backyard, and Meek performed 2012’s “I’m a Boss” for the audience.

In addition to celebrities, Ross’ auto display attracted some of the rapper’s pals. Tyler, the Creator, Gunplay, 2 Chainz, and more notable guests were there.

According to Fox 5 Atlanta, Fayette County police praised Ross for a drama-free, peaceful celebration.

Fayette County Sheriff Barry Babb remarked, “He hired a really good team that produced a lot of good work for us.”
“We’ve been able to collaborate with numerous agencies, the only drawback being a few minor traffic hiccups. Because we’re able to work together in a way we’ve never worked before, it’s been incredibly wonderful for the community in terms of law enforcement.

But there was a lot of drama leading up to the incident. Rozay’s initial application for a car show permit was turned down, according to WSB-TV, because of Ross’ neighbors.
His neighbors complained about the traffic last year’s inaugural Car and Bike Show generated to the Fayetteville Board of Commissions.

The “Biggest Bawse” ultimately obtained his permit after considerable wrangling.
Additionally, DJ Envy from The Breakfast Club brought smoke to his auto display. Envy told the talking head that he would throw his own auto show to honor Young Dolph, and Ross responded that he “wasn’t on his level.”
And people shouldn’t construct cars just to attend your car show, Envy. No one should travel from another state to attend your auto exhibition, Envy.
The Florida native made fun of “Da Beige Rage.” you observe? However, Envy, sees to it that they have everything they require. Memphis, you all had best hold Envy accountable. Be humble, envy. Respectfully, beige lad. You’re a brown boy! And see to the welfare of my people.

These have been around. We genuinely display love. All you do is market.

Rick Ross wants people to be able to see his automotive collection in person rather than only admiring it online.
The “Hustlin'” rapper did this by allowing the inaugural Promise Land Car and Bike Show to take place this past Saturday at his Fayettville, Georgia, plantation. Rozay’s cherished goods were on display for auto and rap enthusiasts equally during what appeared to have been a beautiful spring day.

The nation’s premier culinary and music festival is back after a two-year hiatus, bringing excitement to Gauteng’s Kyalami Grand Prix Circuit for the Heritage Day weekend.
The festival honors the biggest national and international acts as well as gastronomy and music. International musicians Burna Boy, Stereo MCs, Digable Planets, and Babyface will perform at the 2022 DStv Delicious International Food and Music Festival took place on September 24–25.

The stage will be graced by South African superstars including Simphiwe Dana, Zenzi Makeba Lee, Msaki, and spoken-word master Lebo Mashile.

After a two-year break caused by the virus that paralyzed the planet, the much-awaited return of the DStv Delicious International Food & Music Festival is just days away.
The best in local and foreign cuisine will be served, and a match will be lit to ignite the dance floor, so there won’t be much time for standing still at this year’s event.

As “a music festival for food enthusiasts and the food festival for music lovers,” the event was introduced in October 2013 with the goal of showcasing both domestic and international culinary and musical talent.

A unique tribute to South African singer-songwriter and activist Miriam Makeba, whose music and work contributed to the campaign for black people’s freedom and equality, will take place at the Kyalami Grand Prix circuit during heritage weekend.

There are many fun events over the two-day festival to keep you engaged. Here are five delectable festival foods to indulge in this year.

The Top Five Items Served During The Dstv Tasty Festival

Food
It’s no accident that the festival is called Delicious. This year, there will be over 100 merchants delivering the freshest gourmet street cuisine as well as a variety of fascinating dinners. In Greenside, Johannesburg, one of these vendors is the recently opened Best Friend Street Bar restaurant. They have a wide selection of drinks that go well with their food, which includes everything from burgers, pizza, and prego rolls to beignets.

The ambassador lounge will include a tempting menu from celebrity chef Siba Mtongana. “Because it is at a racecourse, we have taken an effort to ensure that we curate an exceptional and personalized meal. The exquisite, sophisticated, and Sibalicious lounge cuisine for this year relates to the opulence of the ambassador lounge.

To recreate the gourmet dining experience, we’ve borrowed a few ideas from my restaurant in Cape Town.
However, we also recognize that this is a special occasion, so we don’t want to go overboard,” she adds.

The publication of the cookbook DStv: Delicious Festival: Our Story & Recipes, which can be purchased for R390 equivalent to Ksh 2642 Kenyan shilling online at That Food Guy Shop, is an exciting aspect of this year’s event.
The cookbook, which is devoted to celebrating South Africa’s variety via food and music, includes recipes and tales from regional musicians who discuss their favorite dishes and food-related experiences.

It’s the ideal collector’s item for any fan of a delicious festival, featuring dishes like Lorna Maseko’s stuffed leg of lamb with spinach, tomato, chili, and biltong jam, J’Something’s crispy Korean cauliflower with toasted cashew and cauliflower stem salsa, and the festival’s own chocolate cookie ice cream sandwiches.

Music
The main stage of this year’s delectable festival is the best location to dance the night away on Saturday when Nigerian megastar Burna Boy performs. Nigerian singer Nissi, G Force, Stereo MCs, Major League DJs, and legends of kwaito including Mdu, Thebe, Arthur, Kabelo, Trompies, and Dino Bravo are among the other performers on that day.

On Sunday, Grammy-winning singer-songwriter and renowned R&B producer Babyface and Brotha vocalist Angie Stone will serenade the crowd on the main stage. On Sunday, Msaki, Simphiwe Dana, Zenzi Makeba, and Lee will conduct a tribute to Miriam Makeba, who would have turned 90 this year.

Chefs who are kind
Why not support Chefs With Compassion, a non-profit organization dedicated to the fight against hunger, while enjoying the best food and music the festival has to offer?

You can do this by purchasing an R50, equivalent to Ksh 339 Kenya shillings plate signed by chef Nti or by purchasing a care package that includes non-perishable foods at any participating Sasol Delight garage store or the Sasol gazebo next to the non-profit organization’s stall at the festival. You have the chance to win a sundowner on the main stage as well as a magnum bottle of red wine.

According to Caroline McCann, co-founder of Chefs With Compassion, there is an increasing demand for food contributions as the nation recovers from the consequences of Covid-19, which has left many households without an income due to job losses.

“Through our cooperation with Delicious, we have already made slightly over 3.3 million (Ksh 22,240594) meals, and the only way we can prepare 4 million (Ksh 26,967,620) meals is by raising money. So, in order to continue till we reach our 4-million meal goal, we are seeking to raise R1 million (Ksh 6,741,905), the woman explains.

SuperPicks viewing area
In addition, there are activities for all sports enthusiasts in advance of Saturday’s match between the Springboks and the Puma’s (which you can catch at the SuperPicks viewing area).

The Hollywoodbets Kings Park stadium in Durban will stream it live, and festivalgoers and sports fans will be able to witness the cricket and soccer games scheduled for the weekend.
You won’t have to worry about missing any athletic action this weekend because there is a bar accessible.

Viacom photobooth
Bring your best stance to the BET Africa Viacom photo booth, which will be set up and ready to capture your outfit of the day.
A meet-and-greet with the cast of BET’s upcoming drama series God for Us All, Guluva for Himself, which was based on the lyrics of the 2000 kwaito musician Zola 7 song Ghetto Scandalous from his album Umdlwembe, will also be available at Viacom’s booth.

Kwanele Mthethwa, who plays Umbuso’s lead character on Mzansi Magic, and How to Ruin Christmas actor Yonda Thomas are two of the show’s famous actors.

The Bole Festival In Port Harcourt In 2022 Will Feature Food, Entertainment, And Thrills.

A month ago, Port Harcourt’s largest food and music festival, the Bolè Festival, was held. The sixth iteration of the festival took place in August and filled Yakubu Gowon Stadium with thousands of spectators. For many people, the dynamic city’s thrill, experience, and memories are still very fresh.

The sixth iteration of the food festival, Bolé Festival 2022, with the theme Level up, was started in 2016 to honor the renowned Port Harcourt street food. The festival draws food lovers and chefs from all over the world to celebrate the rich culture and variety of popular food with a focus on Southern heritage. Bolé Festival had an increase in attendance from 300 guests in 2016 to a record-breaking 25,000 attendees in 2021.

The festival featured kid-friendly activities including musical performances and the visually magnificent bamboo Bolè village, where people lined up until three in the morning to enjoy the famed Bolè booths’ bole and fish. There were also dance competitions, culinary stalls, comedic performances, and games.

Nonso Iwuh started the Bolè festival in 2016 out of a love for showcasing a southern history and way of life. Despite the bad weather, over 28,000 people came to the Bolè festival 2022 over the course of two days, and there were over 100 vendors from all over Nigeria. We Pin!, a common Port Harcourt slang expression that implies “we are immovable,” was used in this situation.

The founder and creative director of Bolè, Nonso Iwuh, stated that the 2022 event would be the festival’s sixth and largest iteration. I am grateful to my team of smart, committed young brains who never fail to deliver, and I am astounded by the Bolè Festival’s evolution throughout the years.
Our Bolè BFFs (attendees and well-wishers) are our biggest inspiration, and we appreciate their confidence in us and their assistance.

The festival’s theme for this year was “Level Up,” which represents how, despite the pandemic’s setbacks, we increased our standards, resilience, and festival experience.

“Our identity and message at Bolè Festival are firmly founded in food, culture, and community. We are now able to draw thousands of foodies, brands, and companies every year to celebrate our unique street food culture.” Bolè Festival marketing and communication lead, Elsie Alasia.

The audience were treated to fascinating musical performances by Ruger, Cavemen, and a range of Port Harcourt’s greatest acts in addition to the food fair and games during the festival. Nedu Wazobia, Nas Boi, and Mr. Funny were among the other famous people and influences who performed.

Regarding the upcoming Bolè Festival, Iwuh said: “We anticipate that our 2023 edition will be even more thrilling. We are always searching for fresh approaches to improve the festival experience for our partners and visitors.”

Nigeria Breweries (Tiger Beer), Chipper Cash, La Casera, Bolt, Tecno, Imperial Blue, Chateau Varterly Winery, Bulzano Wine, Red Bull, Sun Ville Group, Fan Ice, Marie Stopes, Fire Condom, Trash Coin, Ceemore Global, YEO Foundation, Starchaser Wine, and Odibola Properties provided financial support for and sponsorship of the Bolè Festival 2022.
